Turns Killer Rabbit We Ancestor

John Fa, researchers from the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust in Jersey, based on the results of his research claiming that Neanderthals, ancestor of humans, extinct because of rabbits. How can that be?

Fa examine animal bones were found in three excavation sites in Spain and France. He found that about 30,000 years ago, large mammals such as deer are abundant in the cave. However, in later periods, a rare large mammals began.

Fa argues, the ability to adapt to hunt small mammals play an important role in the survival of species. While smart modern humans to adapt, not the case with Neanderthals.

"The heavy dependence on hunting and large mammal consumption by a particular group of human relatives kesintasannya limit when prey choices become limited," Fa said as quoted by the Daily Mail.

Fa said, at the time of the Neanderthals, the number of hare abundance. However, the common man is not able or not willing to use it. It is contributing to the extinction of Neanderthals.

"Analysis of the bones were found during excavations in the Iberian group of rabbits showed that diet is an important part of the anatomy of the modern human species. However, the animal was relatively not used during the Mousterian, when Neanderthals existed," said Fa.

Fa not know clearly why the Neanderthals could not take advantage of the rabbit. According to Fa, Neanderthals lacked tactics to capture the animal. The modern man allegedly did not take an arrow to hunt rabbits, but the use of fire, smoke, and dogs.
